The Creston Line is a band from Atascadero, CA formed by singer/songwriter Jon Bartel in 2015. The band can best be described as "Twang Pollution Music," a genre-descriptor derived from an insult hurled at them by a disgruntled audience member.  The band has released the EP ("Great Depression") and a full-length album ("Vagabonds"), both through Twang N Bang Records. In 2019 they released the "Fool's Gold" full length on Delf Records, and on July 23, 2020 Jon Bartel self-recorded and released "Hell", a solo EP available only on Bandcamp.

Some stuff other people have said:

I hate the myth-making of alt-rock fandom bands like the Hold Steady sometimes engage in. We weren’t unionizing coal miners, we were getting messed up and going to rock shows, man. It was fun and it was memorable and it was important to us, but in no way was it heroic... The Creston Line, though… it’s like Raymond Carver writing about a couple of music fans who drink too much: sad and human and somehow both pathetic and dignified.
-Mishka Shubaly

"They evoke the Avett Brothers prior to their mainstream success... their sound is a beautiful blend of gritty guitar play and lyrics you hope to learn."
-Monterey County Weekly
